Here is a pretty way to gift that extra loaf of banana bread.  It really is easy!  It only takes a couple of minutes, and you’ll be rewarded with a cute box perfect for a standard size load of bread.

Loaf

All you need is one sheet of 12×12 cardstock.  I chose a simple orange paper (it looks pink in some of the pictures, but it is actually orange).

cardstock

score

You’ll need to score your paper at 1 3/4″ and 10 1/4″

Then, rotate it 90 degrees and score it again at 3 3/4″ and 8 1/4″

I know it is hard to see the score lines, but you should end up with something that looks like the picture below.

cut

Now just cut up on the sides like the picture above.

fold in sides

Fold in the sides to begin forming the box.

form box

Fold the long edge over the folded in sides to create the box.

glue dots

You’ll need to secure the folded down sides.  I used glue dots, but you can staple the box closed, use tape or glue.  Basically anything handy!

completed box    Ta-dah!  A finished box just the right size for one loaf of bread!

pedestal

Here is how I wrapped my banana bread to put it in the box:

wax paperplace in boxtuck in paper tie with string
